Finding the Right Combination
Is something not quite working in your career, business or ministry? You may be closer than you think. It’s a question of finding the right combination.
One tweak can change everything
I’ve mentored loads of young bands back in the day and later many solopreneurs. I still get ideas when I either listen to people’s music or look at the products and services they offer. I see or hear things that can be added that would make their songs or business even better and make them stand out.
In my own business, the combination of drum therapy + mentoring + motivation has proven to be an effective and unique mix. Making that change proved to be the right combination and a much better fit for me.
Are you a “one trick pony”?
Many people start out and only have one product or service to offer. The only problem with this is that people may want something else. Or, they might want something else that can go with what you have. You may want to consider:
1. Bundling your products or services: What can you add that will make a nice package? Listen to what people are asking for! In my case, it was adding a djembe drum to my 3-month private drum therapy sessions.
2. Creating multiple income streams: This may be the only way to survive these days. I presently have 7. I could conceivably add 1 or 2 more. Write out what you presently offer. What’s the most popular and what’s not getting much interest at all?
3. Joining forces: You could team up with a person or an organization that’s aligned with what you do. This could be a joint venture, a referral partner, or an endorsement deal. It also helps if you keep God in the equation, so you’re trying to do everything in your own strength. 😉
