Finishing the Year Strong
What’s your year-end strategy? Are you kicking back or cranking it up?
It all depends what your goals were for this year. Did you set goals or choose a word of the year in 2019? If so, how did you do?
Choosing priorities
There are only six weeks left until Christmas. If increasing your income by year-end is a really high priority, then you may need to change some of your strategies. You may need to get creative. For creatives, entrepreneurs, and musicians, here’s a hint: Christmas or holiday gifts and parties.
What can you come up with that you can package as a cool Christmas gift? Here are some suggestions:
1. Gift certificates: I offer gift certificates for a 4-pack of drum lessons, a drum therapy session, and a drum party or drumming event. Coaches could offer a coaching session. Musicians could offer a house concert. The possibilities are endless!
2. Bundle items! Musicians can bundle CD’s or a CD and a T-shirt. Authors: How about bundling your book(s) and a journal? Do you make jewelry? How about bundling a necklace with earrings? I give out a free hand drum with every 3-month ADHD coaching package. Music teachers: Music book + sticks or strings. Or maybe a 4-pack of lessons + a package of sticks or strings.
3. Tapping into your hobby: If bills are mounting up, what can you make and sell quickly? I know people who took orders for cookies, salsa, hot sauce, wreaths, holiday décor, etc. None of this is what they do for a living. They put a picture on Facebook and boom! People expressed interest and orders rolled in. Don’t forget to advertise in Facebook groups as well. You don’t have to pay for ads. Ask friends to like and share your post.
If you need to kick back
Maybe you’ve done about all you can to finish the year strong and you really just want to take some time off to regroup or kick back. Amen! I hear you!
I’ve set the wheels in motion for drumming classes for both school and homeschooling groups. Everything is on hold at this point so I will regroup and try for a January start. What will I do instead? Performances, Christmas activities, spend time with family, and I plan to revisit a book I wrote but put on hold.
What will you do in the next 6 weeks? Feel free to leave a comment below! PS: If you need to drum for clarity or just for fun, contact me and we’ll set up a time!
