Release Your Rhythm!
Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or stressed out? Maybe you’re fearful, angry, or you’re just holding back. These emotions are totally understandable, given the times we’re in.
Holding in your emotions is not good for your mental or physical health. Holding back and playing small is not good for your career or business. What can help with these things? Releasing your “rhythm”!
The key
In Isaiah 22:22, the Bible mentions “the key of David” which is used to unlock what needs to be unlocked. In the literal sense, this could be an actual key to a door or…a musical note. Guess what? There really is a musical frequency that’s known as the key of David. It’s 444.
If you’ve read my books, attended a class or event, or worked with me privately, you’d know that I use specific beats, exercises, and instruments. It’s not a drum lesson or African drumming, it’s what I call “percussion with a purpose.” The purpose varies, based on the individual or group’s goals.
In order to boost clarity and confidence, reduce anxiety, stress, and anger, and yes, even promote healing, I need to find “the key.” This is the thing that’s tripping them up or causing a blockage of some sort. Just like the key of David, it can also be a musical key or frequency. I may switch techniques or instruments to find the right combination that will unlock those neural pathways and boost my results. Often, something needs to be released.
What’s the connection?
Well, if you’re feeling stuck or out of sync, there may be something that you’re missing or ignoring. Is there something you’re avoiding because you’re afraid of what others will think? Do you know why you’re holding back?
Some people really don’t understand what’s tripping them up. That’s a sure sign that they need to go deeper. Drum therapy sessions really can help with that. I’ve worked with clients who have gotten major epiphanies by doing specific exercises with me. These easy patterns can improve your mindset and that body/mind connection.
Time to release!
So, what gifts have you been hiding? What have you held back due to fear? What emotions need to be released?
I did this fun video to illustrate how freeing it can be to bust out some fast beats and just let go! This is not a drum therapy exercise per se but it’s loads of fun! And yes, it’s not perfect but I went for it anyway. Take a peek:
How about you?
