Reset Your Mindset – with Drumming!

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel and things are beginning to shift. The question is: Are you ready? One way to do that is with drumming.
How I shifted
What I learned during this time is that I can shift and adapt. When I took my drum therapy business online, I had no idea how something that is so interactive would translate to a tiny screen.
Instead of giving up or thinking it would be impossible, I listened to God and gave it a try. I also listened to my clients. And I drummed. A lot.
Adults wanted to know:
1. “Why am I here?”
2. “What am I supposed to do with my gifts and talents?”
3. “How do I start (or expand) my business or career?”
4. “How do I reduce my anxiety and/or ADHD issues?”
Teens were dealing with:
1. Social concerns
2. Feelings of isolation
3. Apathy, confusion, or boredom
4. Anxiety or depression and ADHD issues
That’s what prompted me to write my book, Rise Up and Rock: Activating Your God-Given Purpose, which is now on Amazon. It contains loads of tips, encouragement, and success stories of those of us who rose up against all odds. I also began developing drum therapy exercises that specifically addressed the areas of concern and I sprinkled in some mentoring, when needed.
Finding your joy and making a shift – with drumming!
As a result, my private clients made a shift – often after the first three sessions! They learned what limiting thoughts and beliefs were holding them back and how to shift those. They also gained clarity about what they needed to do next, the confidence to move forward, and they found their joy. My special needs clients experienced physical improvements and reduced stress.
So, if you’re feeling stuck, here’s a tip: When in doubt, drum it out!
Here are 2 easy and fun exercises that anyone can do, whether you have a drum or not:
