What’s Holding You Back?
Do you know what’s holding you back from achieving your goals and your dreams? I’ve mentored both kids and adults for over 25 years. What’s blocking their success is never what they think.
The real reason varies. It could be as simple as they need a better system or better habits. Other times, it’s eroded confidence, unrealistic expectations, or self-imposed pressure to be perfect. This can affect even those who seem to have it all together. Even stellar Olympians. Something is throwing them off.
When you need to recalibrate
Ever feel like something was off but you didn’t know why? Ignoring it generally doesn’t help. It’s like saying “Hmmm…my check engine light keeps going on but it’s probably nothing.”
Drum therapy can be a diagnostic tool. I can tell what’s going on with a person by the way they tap on their drum. Drum therapy can also help recalibrate your body, mind, and spirit so that you function better. It’s part music, mentoring, and ministry.
Two Moms recently discovered this. Their teens didn’t feel they needed drum therapy, so the Moms took their sessions. Soon, they discovered that it helped them not only reduce stress but also to deal with the issues that were blocking their success. And that’s when the healing begins.
Where could you use more balance?
It’s very common to have it all together in one area but something else is a complete mess. For example, my house is generally very tidy. But you should see the storage room! We keep saying that we’re going to sort things out and take care of it. But we don’t. Heck, there are boxes in there from our homeschooling days! Did I mention that our kids are now in their 30’s?
So, be honest. What do you need to address? Can you do this on your own or do you need help? I recently accepted the fact that I’m not Superwoman and hired a virtual assistant to help me keep track of contacts and commitments. My business has grown and I feel blessed. But I’m having trouble keeping up with it all.
A different kind of self-care
Asking for help is a form of self-care, or self-preservation, if you will. Being aware that something needs to change is the first step. Just like chiropractic, once you get realigned and recalibrated, it feels so much better. You can think more clearly and you’re ready to…Rise Up & Rock!
